Kara Bernarda, M.A., is a Doctoral Candidate in Integral and Transpersonal Psychology at CIIS focusing her dissertation on magnetoreception and ESP.  She is a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and an Institute of HeartMath Resilient Educator instructor and product reseller.  She received her B.A. in Philosophy from Loyola Marymount University and her M.A. in Counseling and Educational Psychology from the University of Nevada Reno, obtained clinical licenses as a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and worked as a family consultant supporting profoundly gifted children.  While living on Hawai'i and enrolled in a doctoral program in clinical psychology, Kara worked as a research assistant with the Resonance Project Foundation and studied with a Feldenkrais mentor, which led to a redirection of her studies and the development of her presentation integrating psychology, physics and principles of unification, spiritual philosophy, neurocardiology, and the design of the human nervous system.  Within the context of a holistic cosmology, she seeks to share her understanding of the function of consciousness and the feeling nature of life, focusing on the intelligence of the heart, the proprioceptive sense, and practical applications for enhancing nervous system coherence.  With a hobby of memorizing the poetry of the Sufi mystic, Hafiz, Kara recites these heart-opening poems to inspire the full scope of living this moral message of interconnectivity.text.
